Since Jay-z took a head job at def jam, he's turned away true talent and welcomed a million different versions of the same person.
When presented with the oppourtunity to sign Asher Roth, a young emcee who could very well help to save hip hop, jay-z passed on him. No surprise, to me. It seems Jay-z is more drawn to the music of artists wearing tank tops, and flashing gang signs.
Just goes to show how stupid this guy is. He's a dinosaur and makes horrible music about his money and his swagger. No wonder he signs people with no talent, he has none himself.
Instead of promoting one of the best artist on def jam, Joe Budden, Carter would rather give the worst rappers like Rick Ross , young jeezy, and Ace Hood chances to shine.
Thank GOD Lupe didn't sign with Def jam or it would be impossible to revive hip hop.
P.S Sorry for the original version where I steamed on T.I and Young Joc. I was presently unaware that they weren't on Def Jam. Turnover on me, and thanks to Capital O for pointing that out.
